Municipal elections in Wood County Saturday saw two city council incumbents reelected while a third was defeated.

In the only school board race in the county, Tony Forsyth won the two-year unexpired term on the Mineola School Board, garnering 266 votes to 100 for Lina Ortega.

Two other seats were uncontested, and Jeffrey White and incumbent Jay McGough won the three-year terms.

Cassandra Sampson won a third term on the Mineola City Council in Ward Three, polling 63 votes to 15 for Crystal Arcand.

Polly Jones in Ward One and Jimmy Alexander in Ward Two were elected without opposition, replacing Sue Jones and Eric Carrington.

Eric Malloy was reelected to the Hawkins City Council, defeating Norma Oglesby 74-46.

Deb Rushing was elected Hawkins mayor and Meredith Hancock was elected to the council unopposed.

For three seats on the Winnsboro City Council, incumbents CJ Thatcher and Jim Hollowell were reelected with 100 votes and 78 votes, respectively, while Stephen Boorman won the third seat with 73 votes. Incumbent Randy Parrish polled 60 votes.

Remaining cities and school districts canceled their elections with no contested races.

Reelected to the Alba City Council are Tammy Kirkpatrick, Bob Kraemer and Tim Westervelt.

Alba-Golden school trustees serving another term are Mike Ragsdale and Terry Clark.

Jack Robinson, Steve Glenn and Todd Wright are reelected to the Quitman City Council.

Royce Patterson and Michael Hipp are reelected to the Quitman School Board, and Shauna Attaway gained the third seat without opposition.

The three Yantis ISD seats go to Jennifer McKeever and incumbents Tyra Kenemore and Ashly Vivion.

Yantis City Council incumbents Gerald Schmidt, Steve Judkins and Ken Sharp are reelected.

Blake Warren, Danny Smith and Scott McKamie are reelected to the Hawkins School Board.

Duncan McAdoo and Chip Brown are reelected to the Winnsboro School Board.
